Climbing
tip:
Check before you leave the ground. A simple and easy check list to help ensure you are safe and secure before you approach the edge
of a cliff or before you start to climb is to go through the ABCDE check list. This is simply
A –
Anchors. Reliable, solid, no single point of failure.
B –
Buckles. Secure, threaded back on both harness and helmet.
C –
Carabineer. Done up and orientated correctly
D –
Device. Abseiling or belaying device is threaded or loaded correctly
E –
Ends and everything else. There is a knot at the end of the rope, shoe laces are done up, loose clothing tucked in and hair
tied back.
